The changing of seasons brings more rain and saturated ground, escalating your risk of a flooded basement. We’d love to help you avoid that!
>>The average lifespan of a sump pump is around 7-10 years<<
Here are some signs your sump pump may be nearing the end of its life:
Pump will randomly turn on/off, make strange noises, continuously run, vibrate excessively when running, and from simply being used infrequently.
We recommend testing your sump pump 3x a year at the change of seasons: spring, summer and fall.
First, ensure power is running to the outlet and your sump pump is plugged in. Then, grab a 5 gallon bucket of water and pour it into the pit. This should raise the water level, lift a float, and turn the sump pump on. If your home is prone to loss of electricity, you could be a great candidate for a battery backup sump pump with alarm system.
